TLIC FAMILY. DAY 190. JULY 9: WE HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST.

THINK TOGETHER

What would it be like to share a brain with someone else?

READ TOGETHER

Yesterday we were introduced to the Corinthian Christians who thought that only some Christians will understand God and the rest won’t. Some will simply know more than others and be more spiritual. But that is not true at all. Listen to what Paul tells the Corinthians here in chapter 2:

1 Corinthians 2:16. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

We have the mind of Christ. Wow. The Apostle Paul is saying that every single Christian has Jesus living inside of them. And every single Christian has God, the Holy Spirit guiding them. That means that every single Christian shares the mind of Jesus. And that means that if you are a Christian you can think like Jesus. You can know what God thinks. You share God’s brain – Jesus’ brain.

What do you think about all day? What do you think Jesus thinks about all day? Do you and Jesus think about the same things? You can. In the book of Philippians, Paul will say these words:

Philippians 2:3-7. 3Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6who… 7emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant.

Do you think you can think the same way as Jesus? Can you be a servant? Can you be humble? Can you put others first? Yes, you can. How? By knowing that Jesus always loves you and is there for you. So now you can put others first every time and trust Jesus to take care of you. And he always will.

Because of Jesus you can know how God thinks.

With Jesus you can think like Jesus and put others first.

DO SOMETHING TOGETHER

Can your family guess what each other is thinking? Go around and try to guess each other’s thoughts. Pretty hard right? But can you guess Jesus’ thoughts? Can we think like he does?

PRAY TOGETHER

Jesus, help me to think like you. Help me to put others first. Because you love me I know you will. Amen.
