What does it mean to do God’s will?
READ TOGETHER
John 6:38. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.
Jesus came down from Heaven to Earth to do the will of God the Father. That’s wisdom! God’s wisdom is never about doing whatever we want. God’s wisdom is always about doing what God wants.
When Jesus became a baby born in a manger he was doing what God wanted.
When Jesus grew up in wisdom and understanding just like you are, he was doing what God wanted.
When Jesus healed the sick and helped the poor he was doing what God wanted.
When Jesus prayed and trusted God he was doing what God wanted.
When Jesus taught people about the Kingdom of God he was doing what God wanted.
When Jesus let himself be arrested, tried, beaten and crucified on the cross he was doing what God wanted.
When Jesus arose and went back up to Heaven to sit on his throne he was doing what God wanted.
When Jesus lives in our hearts by faith and lives out his life through us he is doing what God wants.
When Jesus returns for us to take us to live with him forever he will be doing what God wants.
Are you wise? Do you do what God wants or what you want? If Jesus lives in your heart why not let him do what God wants through you?
Because of Jesus everything God wants has been done by him.
With Jesus we can do what God wants.
