THINK TOGETHER.
Is God with you right now? How do you know?
READ TOGETHER
Proverbs 3:5-6. 5Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Today we move from Proverbs 3:5 to Proverbs 3:6 – In all your ways acknowledge him. This phrase could also be said this way: “In everything you do, know him.” What does that mean? Well, it means that in everything you do be aware that you are doing it with God.
Shopping? Be aware that God is with you.
Playing football? Be aware that God is with you.
At school? Be aware that God is with you.
Cleaning your room? Be aware that God is with you.
Angry at a friend? Be aware that God is with you.
Tempted to lie? Be aware that God is with you.
Making decisions? Be aware that God cares about our choices.
Feeling unloved? Be aware that God always loves you no matter what.
When we have Jesus living in our hearts we can be even more aware than Solomon that God is with us. We can know God even better than Solomon because Jesus is the best revelation of God ever. And now he lives in us. He is always with us, not just outside of us, but inside of us too. When you trust in Jesus, God the Holy Spirit is guiding you and reminding you of God’s love for you all the time.
The question is will we listen to the Spirit’s reminders of God’s love?
Because of Jesus God is always with us.
With Jesus we can be aware of God’s presence all the time.
DO SOMETHING TOGETHER
Can you say any verses that remind of God’s love for us? Do you know any by heart? Share with your children how you listen to the Spirit’s reminders.
PRAY TOGETHER
Jesus, help me be aware that you are always with me. Amen.
