TLIC Family. PROVERBS. JUNE 27: PROUD.

THINK TOGETHER.

Are you proud?

READ TOGETHER

Proverbs 15:25. The Lord tears down the house of the proud

God hates pride.

Pride looks down on others.

Pride doesn’t look up to God.

Pride makes us think we are our own savior.

Pride wants to do whatever it wants to do.

Pride doesn’t listen.

Pride doesn’t let God be God.

Pride wants to be the creator instead of being God’s creation.

Pride thinks it’s in charge.

Pride thinks it can get away with sin.

Pride is over confidence.

Pride is arrogance.

Pride is selfishness.

Pride is foolishness.

God hates pride.

But God loves the proud and sent his son, Jesus, to give his life for the proud. The worst thing our pride can do is reject God’s gift of eternal life through his son, Jesus. Don’t be foolish and don’t be proud. Let God be God.

Because of Jesus even the proud can be forgiven and saved.

With Jesus we can trust in God instead of ourselves.

DO SOMETHING TOGETHER

What would you add to our list above: Pride is _____, or Pride does _____?

PRAY TOGETHER

Jesus, I confess I am often proud, trying to do what I want. Help me to trust you instead, and let Jesus live through me. Amen.
