THINK TOGETHER.
Have you ever been treated unfairly?
READ TOGETHER
Proverbs 29:26. Many seek the face of a ruler, but it is from the Lord that a man gets justice.
God put rulers in place for our good. From kings, to presidents, to police, teachers, parents, and pastors, all of these authorities are meant to bring about good and punish evil.
But we have to always remember that our rulers are human, and our human rulers can be just as bad as the bad people they are meant to punish. Hopefully, you will always have good rulers over you. A good mayor. A good teacher. A good boss. I’m sure you have great parents. But remember, that all your good rulers will sometimes get things wrong. Sometimes they won’t do what is right or just. This is why we must learn to trust God for justice and not just people. Our proverb for today reminds us that we can seek the face of a ruler and ask for fairness, goodness, and justice, but we might not get it. But when we seek God for fairness, goodness, and justice we will always get it. Maybe not right away, but someday, even if that day is when we are in Heaven.
When Jesus returns to Earth to rule and reign as king, he will be the best ruler ever! He will bring justice for everyone. Everything will be made good and right. The people who hate him will be kicked out of his kingdom, and the people who trust in him and love him will live in his perfect kingdom forever. Yay!
Until that day, we might have to go through some unfair things. But keep trusting God. Never stop believing that one day Jesus will return to make all things good.
Because of Jesus we know, one day, justice will come.
With Jesus we can endure through unfair things while trusting God.
