Is there anything coming up in the future that you are worried about?

Proverbs 31:25b. She laughs at the time to come.

We’ve been talking about the excellent woman. That’s what the last part of Proverbs 31 is all about. Likely these words were written by King Lemuel, but spoken by his mother. Maybe she was trying to tell him what kind of woman to marry someday.

But we can all learn from Proverbs 31 can’t we? Why? Because in the end every verse describes wisdom. And anyone can be wise. Especially when you have Jesus living in your heart.

Think about today’s proverb – she laughs at the time to come. What do you think that means? It means that she is not worried about the future. She laughs means that she is not scared. It doesn’t mean that she doesn’t care about anything, the rest of the proverb has shown us that she cares about everything. She cares but is not scared. She tries her best at everything, but isn’t afraid of how things will turn out in the future, in the time to come. She is confident and sure that in the end everything will be alright.

How does Jesus make us like this too? With Jesus we never have to worry about the future do we? He is in control of every day of our lives. He is also in control of all eternity, forever. He will take us to Heaven to be with him, and then bring us back to a new earth to live with him forever and ever.

Revelation 21:3-4. ³And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. ⁴He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Because of Jesus everything will be great in the end.

With Jesus we don’t have to worry about the future.

DO SOMETHING TOGETHER

Have everyone share one thing they are worried about happening in the future. Talk through what Jesus will do EVEN IF that bad thing happens.

PRAY TOGETHER

Jesus, I don’t have to worry about what’s coming because you are always with me. Help me to care about everything without being scared of anything.  Amen.
