TLIC Family. Day 245. September 2: God is for us.

THINK TOGETHER

Do you ever wonder if God is on your side?

READ TOGETHER

God is for you!

God is always looking out for you, helping you, guiding you, loving you, taking care of you, protecting you, and fighting for you.

How do we know?

Because Jesus.

Listen here to how the Apostle Paul says it to the Romans:

Romans 8:31. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

The problem is that we don’t always believe that God is for us, do we? Have you ever felt like God has forgotten you? Or that he must be mad at you? Or maybe you just don’t think about God very much at all.

Maybe things have gotten hard sometimes and you’ve wondered if God is really there for you. Maybe you’ve prayed for something and it didn’t happen, and then you ask yourself if God is even listening to you.

But Paul wants us to remember to always look at Jesus and the cross first. How do we know that God is for us? How do we know that God will never leave us or give up on us? How do we know that God is doing everything to make sure we make it home to him? How do we know that God will never stop loving us no matter what?

Because God “did not spare his Son (Jesus), but gave him up for us all (on the cross).”

And if God did that, if God did the hardest thing ever – let Jesus die for us – then won’t he also do everything else that is good for us? Won’t he also “graciously give us all things” in Heaven some day?

Yes! He will.

Because of Jesus God will always be for us.

With Jesus we can trust God no matter what just like he does.

DO SOMETHING TOGETHER

Here’s a great song from Romans 8:31 to sing together.

PRAY TOGETHER

Jesus,

Because you died for me I know that God will always be for me. Help me to trust him every day like you did.

Amen.
