TLIC FAMILY. DAY 292. OCTOBER 19: HIDDEN WITH CHRIST.

THINK TOGETHER

Have you ever found a hidden prize?

READ TOGETHER

When you become a Christian your life gets connected to Jesus so that everything that happened to him physically has happened to you spiritually. Listen to how Paul explains it here to the Colossian Christians:

Colossians 3:1-4. If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Jesus doesn’t only forgive us and take us to Heaven. He attaches his life to ours. Like we said, everything that happened to Jesus has happened to us. Our lives are hidden inside of Jesus’ life.

Jesus died and “you have died.” Just like Jesus we have died to sin. Sin can’t keep us away from God and his love ever again.

Jesus rose again and “you have been raised with Christ.” Not only does sin not condemns us, but we are also able to love an obey God because Jesus is alive in us!

Jesus returned to glory in heaven and “you also will appear with him in glory.” One day we will be perfect just like Jesus. No more broken bodies and no more broken hearts.

And if all of this is true (and it is if you have trusted in Jesus), then today let’s “seek the things that are above where Jesus is.” If our lives are this connected to Jesus, then let’s spend some time thinking about him and what he has done for us and IN us. And as we do we will learn to love and trust him more and more no matter what.

Because of Jesus our lives are hidden in God.

With Jesus we are so connected to him that we can trust him and live like him in this world.

DO SOMETHING TOGETHER

Here’s a good song that can help you learn Colossians 3:1-4.

PRAY TOGETHER

Jesus,

You have connected my life to yours. Not because I deserve it, but because you are loving and gracious. Help me to let you live through me today.

Amen.
