TLIC FAMILY: PROVERBS. DAY 24. JANUARY 24: INTEGRITY.

THINK TOGETHER.

Do you have integrity?

READ TOGETHER

Proverbs 2:7. [God] stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity,

Having integrity is very important. Do you know what integrity is? The word integrity means to be full or complete. It means that you do what you are supposed to do, and that you do what you said you would do completely. Having integrity means you keep your commitments and always give your best at what you do. It means you can be counted on.

Does integrity describe you? Do you do what you say you will do? Do you give your complete and best effort at things? And more importantly, is it God that you are trying to honor with your integrity? Or just yourself? Are you honest? Do you do your best? Do you try hard so that you will look good, or because you trust God?

Jesus’ love for us makes it so that we can have integrity, but not from pride or trying to look good to others, but because we don’t have to look good for others anymore. When you know that you are loved no matter what, you can live an honest life. If you mess up, God still loves you and forgives you. And if you succeed at doing what you say, it is because God helped you; he was your shield. Believing these two things makes you free and humble. Now you can have integrity, not to show off, but to show Jesus.

Because of Jesus we have a shield of God’s love around us.

With Jesus we can live a life of integrity.

DO SOMETHING TOGETHER

Is there anything that you said you would do that you haven’t done yet? Why not go do it right now if you can?

PRAY TOGETHER

Jesus, you always had integrity. Not to show how good you are, but to show how good your Heavenly Father is. Help me to always do what I say I will do because you are good, not because I think I’m good.
