THINK TOGETHER.
What makes our planet so special?
READ TOGETHER
Proverbs 8:27-29. 27When he established the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle on the face of the deep, 28when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep, 29when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
Like we said yesterday, creation didn’t just happen. There is nothing random about anything in nature. In today’s verses Solomon (as Wisdom) is talking about how God made the sky, the seas, and the land just right to keep us alive.
He established the heavens – God filled space with what we need to live (carbon).
He drew a circle on the face of the deep – God separated sky and sea and made gravity so we don’t float away into space.
He made firm the skies above – God made the air we breathe just right for us.
He established the fountains of the deep – God gave us fresh water to drink.
He assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command – God made the beach for us to play on and to protect us from the oceans.
He marked out the foundations of the earth – God made the earth just the right size for us to live on.
Did you know that everything about the earth is just right for keeping us alive? If our air, oceans, gravity, distance from the sun and a million other things were even just a tiny bit different we would not be able to stay alive on this planet. God loves us so much that he made our planet just right for us. And he loves us so much that he sent Jesus to save us and our planet from the destruction of sin. Not only does Jesus save our souls, but he will also save earth making it just right for us again.
Because of Jesus all of creation will be saved.
With Jesus we live on a perfect earth again one day.
