TLIC FAMILY. PROVERBS. MAY 11: INTEGRITY.

THINK TOGETHER.

Do you remember what integrity is?

READ TOGETHER

Proverbs 11:3. The integrity of the upright guides them,

Integrity is a word that means whole or complete. A person with integrity is not fake. They don’t act one way at school and another way at home. They don’t use good words at church and then turn around and use bad words with their friends. The person with integrity is the same no matter where they are.

Solomon says that the upright person is guided by integrity. What do you think that means?

As Christians we are made upright (righteous) by faith in Jesus. When we trust in him he gives us his own righteousness. Now God sees us the same way he sees Jesus – as perfect. And when we know that God sees us this way we can begin to live in integrity. We don’t have to be different depending on where we are or who we are with. The only thing that matters is how God sees us and that never changes.

When we know that God’s view of us never changes then we don’t have to change how we act in order to please people, we only change to please God.

Because of Jesus we know that God sees us the way he sees Jesus – righteous.

With Jesus we can have integrity and live the way God wants us to, not the way others want us to.

DO SOMETHING TOGETHER

Watch the movie Monsters Inc. together. Mike and Sully learn to be kind even when everyone around them is against kindness.

PRAY TOGETHER

Jesus, help me to have your integrity, trusting that God loves me no matter what. Amen.
