THINK TOGETHER
Have you ever been to a wedding? What do you remember about it?
READ TOGETHER
The book of Revelation describes what will happen to Christians at the end of all time. And one of the things that is going to happen is a great big wedding. Here’s how John describes it in Revelation 19:
Revelation 19:6-8. 6 Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,
“Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God
the Almighty reigns.
7 Let us rejoice and exult
and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
and his Bride has made herself ready;
8 it was granted her to clothe herself
with fine linen, bright and pure”—
for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.
In the Bible our relationship with God is described in many different ways.
We are clay that the Potter molds.
We are sheep that the Shepherd protects.
We are servants that serve the Master.
We are friends who hang out with each other.
We are children who are loved and cared for by our Father.
But even being the children of God is not the greatest relationship that we have with God. What Revelation shows us with this great big wedding in Heaven is that the relationship we will have with Jesus forever, and with God forever, is the relationship of a groom and a bride. A husband and a wife.
Kids love their parents and parents love their kids, but they sort of have to. But married people didn’t love because they had to. They love each other because they chose to. Kids grow up and leave their parents. But married people are supposed to grow old together. Parents are the boss of their kids, and masters are the boss of their servants, and shepherds their sheep, and potters their class. But two married people are equally in love, always sharing, never bossing each other around. The Bible says that married people are two in ONE.
And that is what you and Jesus will be forever – two in ONE. Always in love. Always for each other. Always enjoying each other. No matter what.
Because of Jesus we will be married to God forever.
With Jesus we will always be loved no matter what.

Look at the wedding photos/video of your mom and dad or grandparents. What do you see in these pictures/videos? Why do you think Jesus wants to marry us, his church?
PRAY TOGETHER
Jesus,
I know you love me because I know you want to be with me forever. And even though I don’t always understand why you do, I will always trust your love for me.
