THINK TOGETHER
Are you blessed by God? How has God blessed you?
READ TOGETHER
Paul’s letter to the Ephesians (can you find Ephesians in your Bible?) begins by telling us how blessed we are to be connected to Jesus.
Some people think that being blessed by God means having more money, or better health, or an easier life. But the Bible doesn’t really talk about God’s blessing that way. Listen to how the Apostle Paul talks about God’s blessing her in Ephesians 1:
Ephesians 1:3. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places
Instead of thinking of every Christian being blessed differently by God, Paul wants us to see that every Christian is blessed the same by God. Every single Christian has all the same spiritual blessings as Jesus. We are each “blessed in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.”
So what spiritual blessings does Jesus have?
Love.
Acceptance.
Honor.
Holiness.
Security
A heavenly home.
And because we are connected to Jesus we have all these things too. We have “everything” that Jesus has. Why? Because Jesus is the greatest sharer ever and because when we are blessed by God he is glorified and honored.
In this life you may not have every physical blessing on earth. You might still get sick, or hurt, or lose things, or fail at things. But if you are a Christian you can know that you have all the same spiritual blessings of Christ right now. All his same love and goodness lives in side you. Now you can bless others too. And then one day in Heaven you will have all the same physical blessings as Jesus. God will make sure you have everything you need forever.
Because of Jesus we have every spiritual blessing.
With Jesus we can bless others too.

Have you ever watched the Wizard of Oz together? In the end Dorothy already had what she needed to get home all along (the ruby slippers). We too have everything we need to get home to Jesus (every spiritual blessing).

Jesus,
You really are the best sharer ever. Thanks for letting me have all the same blessings as you. Help me to use my life to bless others like you do.
